We started the rollout for Penmap for Android version 11 today for Germany, Belgium, Netherlands and Norway and will add more regions step by step.
With the release of Penmap for Android version 11, we have taken over the enhanced Penmap for Windows version 11 database and template structure.
Penmap for Android version 11 is fully compatible with previous versions. The app will take care that old projects and templates are converted into the new version formats automatically. Penmap for Android users do not need to take any action before updating to version 11.
Note
- Penmap for Android version 10 cannot work with Penmap version 11 projects and templates. Once you have updated projects to Penmap version 11 you cannot open them with Penmap for Android version 10.
- Penmap Project Manager cannot edit Penmap for Windows version 11 templates.
New Features

- Template is stored in the pdt file. Exchanging projects does no longer need to exchange template files.
- Support of front and back camera from device and zoom
Enhancements
- Export data uploads project to cloud first. This will ensure that the exported data matches to the current project on the device.
- It is now possible to use csv format in Penmap Project Manager defined to export point related measurement data.
- Improvements in stability when loading projects
- Continuous measurement with point iFeature stores auto generated attributes in background. GIS dialog will not open for point iFeatures in continuous measurement
- Removed support for old Penmap coordinate system database
- Last used template is set as a default value for project creation
- Last used GNSS settings are stored also if Penmap is updated
- Fixed: Upload project does not work for projects deleted from Cloud
