Tip #160 - Assign Media File to a Point

By Hannah Poon posted 10-07-2021 10:05

Hey TBC’ers! Have you ever wanted to assign a media file to a point collected in the field? For instance, you shot a property corner and took a picture with your phone that you want to link to that point in TBC.

Follow the steps below to learn how to assign a media file to a point to keep track of your survey work.

  • Drag and drop your VCE file from File Explorer into the Plan View or open it by selecting File > Open.

  • Open the Project Explorer pane.

  • In the Project Explorer pane, click on the arrow next to Points to expand and view the list of points.

  • Find the point you would like to assign a media file to.

  • Right click on the point and click Assign Media Files.

  • The Assign Media Files window will display. Select the file you want to add and press OK.

  • Click on the arrow next to your selected point. Then, click on the arrow next to the green Media Folder icon to see the assigned media file(s).

  • Double-click on the media file to open the Properties pane and click on the blue player button to open the file.
