Trimble Sync Manager (TSM) - Cleanup

    Hi All,

There seems to be a fairly simple way to downloand all jobs in project from TSM, but is there a way to delete the jobs in bulk once they have all been downloaded and backed up?

    Thanks,

    Liam

    Hi Liam,

It is not currently possible to delete multiple jobs in bulk, however we have been working through whether to add the concept of archiving projects and jobs across both Trimble Sync Manager and Trimble Access.

Could you provide some feedback on the following questions?

Is your use of Trimble Connect simply as a data throughput?

For your company, what is the next stage for the data contained in the job once it has been downloaded to the office

Is an old job ever used either linked to a new job or with new data added?

Do you require field crew to be able to see each others jobs?

Should the job also be deleted from the field device in Trimble Access If deleting in Trimble Sync Manager?
Likewise, should a field crew be able to delete a job on the controller and have it delete in the cloud?

Would an archive option in either Trimble Sync Manager or Trimble Access be of use?

Are there any situations where you would expect the Trimble Sync Manager view and the Trimble Access view to be different either in terms of deleted or archived data?

    Many thanks for any input.

    Regards

    Chay

    Hi Chay,

    Answers below:

We only use Trimble Connect via TSM

Yes - for jobs that span over multiple days.

Do you require field crew to be able to see each others jobs?

    Infrequently, but yes.

    Thanks,

    Liam

Many thanks for the feedback Liam, I can use this when designing an archive or delete option.

In the mean time, if your primary concern is managing a growing list of jobs. An alternative to deleting them individually could be using the Group jobs by status option.

Using the "QA complete" status for jobs that you are unlikely to return to in Sync Manager would place all of these in one grouping allowing you to focus on the jobs not yet completed.

This does still have an individual and manual element to the process however may suit your needs.

    Hi Liam,

It is currently possible to delete projects whilst in the TSM projects screen.

If using a tile view the garbage can icon shows on each project tile

If using a list view, right click on a project offers the delete project option.

Are you looking for a bulk project delete option?

How often would you expect to need this?

    Regards

    Chay
