In TGO we had an easy way to Adjust a level only Network. I find it difficult with TBC. Local dealer could not help.

I attach relevant files. Can some one help me please.

    Hello Saif,

You can perform an adjustment on leveling data.  It looks like you have already performed the adjustment according to your screen capture.  To view the results of the adjustment you can select the report icon in the top of the command and see the adjusted coordinate results.

The report displays the adjusted elevations, errors, etc.

While in the network adjustment you can also view each adjusted leveling observation by selecting it in the Project Explorer and seeing the results in the Adjust Network command.  In the weighting tab you can change how leveling observations are weighted as well in the constraints tab allows for adjusting the standard error of your control benchmarks.

When first importing the level data, make sure the option in red below is highlighted.  This allows the adjustment for level data to be performed by network adjustment.

    Hope this answers your question!

    Cheers,

    Riley

    Thanks for the reply.

I was not happy as the "Chi Square Test" showed "Failed".

    Doesn't it matter?

Further, In Constraints tab, I got only one point fixed. I have 6 Points whose values are known. I wanted to use all of them as "Fixed". I could easily do it in TGO in the Point list.

The Chi Square Test gives you an idea if the instrument errors provided for the level instrument/observations are correct based on the data you are adjusting.  You can alter the weighting by changing the scalar in the Weighting tab of the network adjustment.  Typically a failure of the Chi Square Test tells the user there is an issue with the data such as optimistic/pessimistic weighting for the observations, over/under constrained control, etc.

Only points with coordinate values set to "Control" will be displayed in the constraints tab.  You can change any point by following these steps:

    1. In the Project Explorer select one of the points you want to use as control -> right-click -> Add Coordinate -> Type in the known elevation value for that point.  You can also enter in Northing and Easting for it but are not required for leveling adjustment.
    2. Next, click the "?" icon beside the elevation field and choose "Control Quality".  This sets that points elevation value as control and can be used to fix in the adjustment constraints.
    3. Now go to the Network Adjustment -> Constraints tab and notice point 573 is available now.

    Cheers,
