Hi All,
I am needing to see who I might be able to contact at Trimble to submit a programming request, for the Drilling and Piling module. Currently in the DPC module when you build a pile plan you are given 1 option for the 3D positioning tolerance. As an EPC, we need to be able to include all tolerances (X,Y,Z) from nominal, being from pile to pile in the same row, as well as pile to pile in the adjacent rows.
For Example, N-S I might have a HZ tolerance of 1.625" (pile to pile), however E-W my tolerance might be .0625'. On the vertical side, N-S I might have .052' (pile to pile) and E-W (row to adjacent row), I might have a 15" tolerance due to wind loading and shading. Currently, the way the module is built, you have to input your tightest tolerance, (which in this example I would have to input .052' in the 3D positioning field. This leads to a problem when you run your As-Built piling quality report, because even though all positioning has passed, if the report indicates that one of these tolerances is over .052' it shows the pile has failed, and not to mention that the report is not able to decipher a 1deg rotation or inclination difference. If you were to set your azimuth at 90deg for the pile and you have a 1deg tolerance from nominal, and your as-built shows that the driven pile orientation was driven at 89.5deg, your pile fails. However if you drive your pile at 90.5deg your pile passes.
I could go on about other issues I have found over the last couple of years, but really I am needing to see who/where, I can start to run this up the chain to have these programming issues addressed..
Thanks for any guidance,
Gene Dolan
