How do you force the earthwork report to calc a simple 125% on Cut - & 130% on Fill?
1) Define shrinkage/swell factors for each of your materials in MSI Manager.
2) Define native and fill materials in Earthworks settings.
3) Report will be generated in html format:
This is the most misunderstood concept in our industry. Whenever TBC reports show the volume value in red text that is the geometrical cut volume. When in blue its the geometrical fill value. Each material can have its own values hence you apply them to the cut volumes. This allows you to use multiple materials with different values and determine how much is needed of each to fill the hole. You can't apply a value to the geometric fill volume of a hole except in the case of using a single fill material. You must make sure when you add volumes that they are both in the same state. The color coding in the TBC takeoff reports assures that you understand the state in which each volume is being expressed.
