Is there a way to save (.vce) files in BC 5.0 maintaning compatibility with older versions of BC??... e.g. like Autodesk software does.

No, not that I'm aware of.

Older versions of TBC can "usually" open newer files by holding the Ctrl and Shift keys down when opening the VCE file.

Drag-drop the VCE file with the Ctrl-Shift down is easiest.

This option tells TBC to ignore the error about unknown components in the file.

I tried to open v5.0 on v3.81, and it did not work. Maybe I am doing something wrong.

I just held the CRTL+SHIFT keys down and dragged and dropped the vce file, and an error occurred.

3.81? 

I don't think this "trick" will work on a version of TBC that old.
