I need to revert the file to a SSF type so it can be exported to my hand held to go out to update the features, the original files have been lost (new computer) Im running Positions now from Pathfinder so that has been a curve ball as well. Is there a conversion to do this or am I going to start over? its over 2400 features....

Trimble has a webinar on this workflow.

Make sure your esri MXD has the feature class(es) that you will need to see in TerraSync.  Use Trimble Positions to setup a TerraSync Project.   Once Project is made, select the features in the map that you want to send to TerraSYnc and then use the Positions Desktop tool to check the data out to an SSF file.  From there, use data transfer to send the SSF to the Geo7X.

That isnt working. The webinar is for the reverse of what I'm attempting to do, I need to revert the information from a shapefile in the MXD to a SSF. Am I doing it wrong, the feature class in the table of contents is not able to be brought to the positions check out menu bar.

If you have only GPS Pathfinder Office software, save the feature class as a Shapefile.  Then use the import function in Pathfinder to import the Shapefile.  It becomes an IMP file (indicating that the file was imported from another source).  The IMP file can be sent to TerraSync as a live data file (for editing) or a background file for viewing and displaying only.

I’m now working with Positions, is the workflow the same? Or is there another way to get there? Is there any “manual” for this software, a sales person isn’t much for instructions, and I know it’s not a simple task to teach all of the bells and whistles for these things in a short time.
