Trimble Connect and Sketchup's Layout

I have a long standing idea that Trimble Connect should work like Sketchup Layout.

It's not enough for us to have models to coordinate in the same space, we should be able to produce documentation from them.

This documentation would fundamentally require dealing with Architectural, Engineering and Landscape or Interior design models and plans to produce 2D output in the form of views within a sheet of paper.

    We need:

    - Those views to be consistent throughout a project and allow us to overlay 2D files over them.
    - sections to be hatched and stored per view
    - Be able to organize views in a sheet of paper in different scales
    - Dimension those views
    - Tag those views using BIM data or by manually inserting it
    - To Overlay 2D data on top of views so we can coordinate plans with models.
    - To extract dimensional data from views in the form of area, linear measurement of building elements and other kind of information that we can connect to excel/open document sheets.
    - To create title blocks and texts that with dynamic links to data in views, sheets and sets of Documents
    - To Export those views to PDF and CAD formats as DWG or DXF

Nice Idea, i think Tekla is working on something like that..

Our Workaround is to import the ifc as reference in sketchup, make a section, save the section plane and send it to layout. Unfortunally not consistent trough modell changes
