WM Sync on T7 Tablet

  • 1.  WM Sync on T7 Tablet

When trying to WM sync our T7 Tablet, we have had multiple occasions where our Tablets do not bring in all of the necessary files needed for a job. One of our jobs the sync did not bring in the design file that is posted on WM and on another job the sync did not bring in the Control Point csv file. Does anyone have any idea why this would be happening?

Another question we have is if it is necessary to check the "sync diagnostic data folder" box when trying to WM sync?

I recently had a customer experiencing similar WorksManager sync issues. He also mentioned the data collector doing other oddities such as showing a residual connection but not getting a position as well as WM settings disappearing. I had him remove the projects site.xml and the SCS900 data folders all sites xml. At this point he was able to sync without issue so it seems to have been file corruption due to the data collector dying with the program open.

    Hi there,

First, suggest upgrading to Siteworks v1.75 which has design notifications and automatic downloads in the background. That should help at least with missing designs. Check out the release notes at the Siteworks Website under downloads and then documentation for more details.

Missing data can often, as mentioned, be remedied by deleting/renaming or moving out the of the SCS900 data folder the AllSites.xml file.  Also deleting the LastSync.zzz folder can help. Deleting the LastSync.zzz file will cause Siteworks to treat the sync like it is the first time. Anything on the server that isn't on the controller will be downloaded. Anything on the controller that isn't on the server will be pushed up.

You do not have to check the Sync Diagnostic Data checkbox.  That is intended to use for troubleshooting in case Trimble support or SITECH requests the Diagnostic Data folder.  It will save the user from having to zip and USB/email that from the data collector, since the folder's contents can be downloaded from WorksManager...
