Just tried again. One thing I did not do origanally was not adding all the image file into the Background Image folder. That was KEY!! thank you Shea.

I will have to try again and write down what the error message says. My project is calibrated and have open the PDF in GE. Which have been placed correctly in GE.

Site has to be calibrated. Or in State Plane.

@francisco where was that error in TBC or Siteworks? From the Siteworks side all you really need is an image, then you can import the image into Siteworks and perform a 2 point georeferencing of the image right in Siteworks. From TBC, I was just able in 2024 to open a new blank project, I dragged in a random VCL design file, and then simply hit the "Capture" button in the Images submenu of the CAD tab in the ribbon. My project didn't have a coordinate system per se and the image was produced.
If anyone is having issues producing the images, then I would encourage you to work with your SITECH dealers to submit a support case to Trimble. Provide them sample VCE project files and folders, and tell them your workflow. Generally, while the threads are a nice way to report in issues, we are limited in our abilities to actually look at anythign unless it comes in as a support case via your reseller (be that SITECH or Geo). So get the data to your dealer with your bugs and then they will send it on to Trimble.

Ben,
I have also encountered this problem since around version 5.9. I am unable to generate any background images, plotbox or screen capture, regardless of size. I suspect that it is a bug, which is unfortunate. I am currently running Version 2024.

All,
I have been trying to use the default background imagery in TBC and use the capture command to create the background images for siteworks. However, I all I get is a black image. I can import a image from google earth and place it and then complete the same process and it works fine. The problem is that the images are not as nicely placed or where I live as sharp as the ones TBC uses in their default background map provider. I have no doubt that it could be a size issue but my photos are less than 1000 kb. Am I doing something wrong? Does TBC not know how to do this? If i don't use a plot box and hit the capture I get part of the screen starting from left to right. If I minimize my screen really small then the capture works with or with our the plot box if by chance you have your screen sized just right. I think this is pretty ridicules and it needs to be addressed. Why market a function that does not work correctly!? And don't get me started on the wok around to get them to sync to your tablet......
