New DA2 update - FieldMaps not able to collect line features anymore....

    Hi community,

Reaching out to see whether anyone else is having this issue post the latest update of DA2 firmware.

I have used DA2 as an external receiver with my Android (Samsung) smartphone for over 2 years now and use FieldMaps for data collection. Following the latest DA2 firmware update I can no longer collect line features in the field when connected to DA2, point features seem to work fine still. The line feature will start streaming as normal, but only goes in a straight line (i.e. has stopped accounting for curves), or only collects maybe the starting point of the line feature and nothing else...doesn't matter if the map is online or off-line, seems the line feature has just become glitchy following the update. When I switch the DA2 off and switch to the internal receiver (in my phone) I can collect line features just fine (but obviously with much lower accuracy, which is not what I'm after).

Any ideas how to troubleshoot and fix this? Very frustrating as I primarily use the DA2 to collect accurate line features, and having to now take single point features ever couple of cms is really time consuming.

Any inputs or advice much appreciated!

    Hi Madara,

Strange, this isn't something I've heard of before. I would suggest you try the following to see if that makes a difference:

    1. Edit your Location providers in Field Maps and remove the DA2
    2. Go to your Connected devices in Android, See all devices and if the DA2 is there Forget it
    3. Restart your phone
    4. Go back into Field Maps, re-add the DA2 as a Location provider and select it.

Let us know if that improves things. If you are still having issues I would suggest connecting with your Trimble dealer (AllTerra?) who will be able to take you through the troubleshooting process.

    Best regards,
