How is Terraflex supposed to work when mandatory fields and rules are used together? We have a form that we used in the past where if a rule is in place to disable a field from being entered, then on saving the form no error message is given when a mandatory field has not been entered. Using the form again this year behaviour seems to have changed so that mandatory fields have to be completed irrespective of any rules, and an exception message is triggered on saving. For example, measuring trees, if a tree is dead, then the form doesn't need to be completed. But if the tree is alive then we want to mandate that the height is captured. This app is used by hundreds of volunteers as part of a scientific study, so usability, productivity and data quality are important.

The work arounds I can see are to allow a '0' entry possible in the fields / make the fields not mandatory / turn off rules. Neither are ideal, and different from how the same app worked last year. Any advice?
