I have been using Works Manager to manage my Earthworks fleet and have been happy with it for that use so far. I also use it for remote support of my TSC7 data collectors. I would like to manage my rovers using works manager but there are some workflow issues that are preventing me from doing so.
1. For the scale of many of my projects VCL files load and function significantly better than loading DXF and TTM separately but there is no way to load them using works manager. Is it possible to add that functionality?
2. Nearly all my designs are the same for Earthworks and Siteworks are the same. Can we add an option where we upload say a DXF and XML file and it creates both a rover and cab kit design?
3. Touches on number 2 but is is possible to add support for XML files for surfaces?
4. The ability to add background images via Works manager is great but the interface would prevent me from managing my larger projects using it. I have some projects that have over 100 background images and loading them 1 at at time would be unrealistic. Can you add a batch upload function? It would also be ideal if this could just become a tab like the design tab and have a preview of the images available.
5. If you can do this already I am unsure but add the ability to push work orders using works manager. Ideally this would be doable as a template so I could say push Iron, Utility, USA marking, AS Built, ect work orders with instructions for what to save in each.
6. Related to number 5 this one is likely a bit of a dream request. Add the ability to compile work orders between rovers and export them as a CSV. Say I have 10 rovers on a project with work orders named IRON. I would like to be able to combine the data from each and then export it to a CSV as a design so I can go onsite and stake the iron locations after paving when it is time to raise them. Currently I do this manually and it is fairly time consuming.
7. Add a way to push additional data using works manager. Say the ability to push a PDF soils report or formatted SVD/SVL files for GCS cab kits. This could just go into and aux folder at the site level.
If you have made it this far thank you for reading and your consideration. If anyone else has a way to do these using works manager already let me know. I have work arounds for each but they are manual, time consuming and on a per unit basis.
