Oppo Electronics use a fork of the Android Operating system on their smart devices named ColorOS.

Devices using the ColorOS (the A77 for example) require the following setup and configuration to before for using with Catalyst.

Note - this document assumes you have already installed the Trimble Mobile Manager application - Instructions on how to Install TMM can be found here

Setup/ Configuration

  1. Enable the Catalyst Service to use Mobile data
  2. Enable OTG connection for Catalyst.
  3. Disable Energy saving tweaks which can affect CPU speed and Catalyst performance

Enable the Catalyst Service to use Mobile data

The device OS may default to using WiFi only for the Catalyst service.

Although Catalyst can operate 'offline' using satellite corrections, we need to enable mobile data to maximise the real-time sources and performance

To enable:

Settings > Dual Sim & Cellular > Apps using WiFi & Mobile Data > Select Trimble Catalyst Service > Select Dual Sim & Cellular Data > Enable WiFi and Mobile Data

Enable OTG connection for Catalyst.

This is required for any app to be able to connect to DA1 antenna. This step is not needed if operating DA1 as HOST mode (i.e. the battery is connected to antenna first then smart phone).

Settings > Additional Settings > Enable OTG

Disable Energy saving tweaks which can affect CPU speed and Catalyst performance

This step prevents the OS from shutting down the Catalyst service when running in the background

Settings > Battery > Energy Saver > Select Trimble Catalyst service > disable Freeze when In background & Automatically optimise when an abnormally is detected
