Working with the Create Vertical Design Tool in TBC

In this Trimble Business Center Power Hour, Alan Sharp will discuss the TBC Create Vertical Design tool with Pat L’Heureux from Severino Trucking Co. Inc., a mid-sized road construction and site development contractor in New Hampshire. Pat has significant experience in using the Create Vertical Design tool for site modeling applications and we will together explore where the tool should / should not be used, and where the advantages can be gained in using it.

Attendees will learn:

  • How to increase productivity in the 3D modeling for field operations (Machine Control and Site Positioning / Surveying) applications
  • How to adjust 3D models dynamically in line with design changes or to refine designs for constructability purposes
  • Tips and Tricks on how to use the Create Vertical Design tool on complex site or highway models
  • How to create composite models by integrating model components created using separate processes including Corridors, Side Slopes, Vertical Designs and other general data prep processes.

TBC GIS Module, where Surveying and GIS Intertwine

Are you ready to embrace the attribute-rich GIS data but cannot surrender the TBC-TA combination for its comprehensive data processing capability? The TBC GIS Module builds a perfect bridge between your usual surveying environment and the GIS destination, so there is no compromise.

In this session we will walk you through a typical surveying-GIS integrated workflow and show you how TBC would retain the best of both worlds. As simple as in 4 steps, you can connect to an ESRI data source, convert the GIS schema, collect data with the schema, and write data back.
Attendees will learn:
  • How to connect to a GIS data source and convert its schema to a feature code library
  • How to modify the feature code library to comply with the TBC-TA ecosystem
  • How to write/merge the newly-collected data back to GIS

Presenters:  Jeff Ryan, Rui Wu, Matthew Morris
