I exported data from our GIS system. I used SHP file. Next I imported this SHP file into the GPS Pathfinder. When I was looking on our features in Pathfinder, Czech characters were incorrectly displayed.
Please. Where is problem?
Pathfinder Office is a non-unicode app. You may need to set the Language for non-unicode apps to Czech. It's under Control Panel - Region - Administrative - Language for non-unicode programs.
Thanks for your advice.
I have looked on this setting in Control panel. My setting is correct - Czech. I tried another things and I have found out that my DBF file (file with attributes for SHP file) is in Windows-1250 (CP1250 - codepage for Eastern Europe). That is correct for ours region. I tried to convert to another codepage which uses Czech language. I have converted from CP1250 to CP852 (CP852 is PC Latin 2). Then I have done a new import SHP to Pathfinder. After conversion are Czech characters correct.
It could be way to resolve my problem but converting is a unnecessarily tedious step during using Pathfinder Office. Straight way without conversion could be better.
So a new question is - Could Pathfinder show data from Windows-1250 codepage?
