I am one that always appreciate an update or upgrade since they imply eradicating bugs and implementing new enhancements to our Trimble equipment but any update should always try to preserve or transform existing user profile information and settings, as long as these dont create an incompatibility with the new software.

The TSC3 new firmware 3.03 update, it is in reality a Windows Mobile 6.5.3 OS upgrade erases all user's data in the TSC3, so please keep up the great work generating periodical updates but see how these time consuming configuration parameters and user data is managed more efficiently making sure to warn the users that a backup IS REQUIRED BEFORE this OS upgrade is done!!!   TSC2 is no longer supported.

Same data erase goes for the SLATE data collector Windows Mobile 1.10 firmware upgrade:

These OS upgrades must be done prior to updating Trimble ACCESS 2016.00 and its TAIM PC software reminds you to do so.   It is highly recommended to name correctly these Windows Mobile OS upgrades as such and not TSC3 or SLATE firmware upgrades in order not to confuse the end users
