Have several Trimble NetR5 that require replacing their internal battery and some other minor repairs such as GPS port replacement. Does anyone here know companies in the USA that service the NetR5 CORS receivers??
Have 3 Trimble NetR5 that require new internal battery anyone knows where can I get these in USA??
Have you checked at UNAVCO? Here is a link to their Trimble NetR5 Resource Page.
Thanks Randy Tried with UNAVCO but they are no longer doing repairs to the public, only their own equipment. Anyone else knows who replaces the internal battery to NetR3/NetR5/NetR8 (which is 90% of the problems with these receivers so always disable internal battery charging/UPS to reduce damages)?
I know that the NetR5 is past its EOL, I will check with my local GNSS dealer and see if they have access to the batteries through a third party and let you know.
I had a long conversation with an authorized Trimble repair technician and he told me that the parts are not available and they couldn't work on those units as there is no real path to recover if anything fails to work correctly. He did have a clever solution to your problem however, if you are only trying to add a replacement to the internal battery you could open the unit and unplug the current battery (two wire plug) and route the connection to an unused LEMO plug and use an external battery of your choosing. That's all I got, hope it helps!
Thanks Randy excellent alternative to disable the internal battery/UPS and use an external replaceable 12v AGM sealed battery (that could be coupled to a 200watt solar panel/controller) to eliminate the internal NetR5/R8/R9 battery "bloating" and damages to the MPCB.
Just found out that the NetR5/8/9 internal battery is being sold in Asia, but using the external battery is way better
