Hello, is there a chance export Leica machine control files from Trimble environment? Or does exist Leica software package able to convert for example 3D dxf to the machine control files? Any experience with that?
I have older Leica equipment in our fleet but I am able to export the necessary files from BC-HCE.
If you want to use CAD line work for horizontal reference, i.e. pipe run, you will need a .pln, which I do not believe BC-HCE will export. You can get this from Carlson.
You will also need to convert the Trimble site Cal to an .loc file.
Many thanks for your answer. I am using 3D dxf like a design and Leica is able to read site cal from DC file.
Here is a good cheat sheet I found on Google.
Hey Patrick, so far your post is the closest to the issue I am trying to solve right now, hope you have some insite on my issue.
I am trying to get Trimble machine control to work with a Leica base. The only time I was successful in doing this is with a local site cal through Leica. I used the .loc file and imported it into Topcon 3D office. There i was able to export a PLLH.csv and a PNEZD.csv and import that into Business Center to create the .cal file for the machine. I am now struggling to find where the .loc comes from. When the customer checked the only option was to export a .lok file. I am thinking the .loc file gets created when a local site cal is preformed?
Is it possible to calibrate on top of a known coordinate system through the Leica icon software and use that .loc file for a large area?
The .loc is a Carlson site calibration or Leica calibration file. This is converted on import into the Leica machine as .lok.
When you do an export from the Leica machine to a USB, you should get a .loc if it exist on the machine. I don't recall the steps for export from a Leica machine off hand, as it has been a while.
There should also be a text file within the group of information that gives you the points that were used for the calibration. More of a manual process but you should be able to extract the segments of information you need for grid and global coordinates. This actually is a very useful file and it looks like it is creating with every job on a Leica machine.
Feel free to message me directly with the folder files and we can try and work through this,
