Hi all, we are in the process of demoing trimble access (we currently have surveyPro)
A couple questions:
Can you not manipulate point descriptors and point numbers in the stake out process?
What file types can you create alignments from?
If you go into Options in the Stakeout screen you change the As-stake point details. I assume this is what you mean by point descriptors? In Options, As-stake point details you can control items like viewing as-staked delta before storage, setting a horizontal tolerance (if it's outside tolerance deltas will appear, inside tolerance it will just store the point), stake deltas format, point code and if you want the stake deltas stored in the job.
Point name is auto assigned and will increment from the last used point. You can change the point name prior to measuring the point.
Regarding alignments, they can be created from polylines or you can string lines or points together, so supported files can be DXF files, Shape files, *.CSV files of points or you can use points and lines from the Trimble Access job file. The actual alignment file has the extension *.RXL (same as the Trimble Access roads format) and can be exported from Trimble Business Center.
If you are looking for some reference material on Stake out in Trimble Access, please refer to the Trimble Access General Survey Help file, in particular Chapter 14, Survey Stakeout. This help file can be downloaded via Trimble Installation Manager, or go directly to: Trimble - Transforming the Way the World Works
