Relayer Block Entities

Question asked by Patrick L'heureux on Dec 6, 2018

I would like to put in a request for a macro to relayer block entities when the entities are on the zero layer or on a prefix-0 layer. This would help speed up the data prep process. I  found that you end up with more entities on a prefix-0 layer when you use the prefix option on the CAD drawing importer, something I use for every drawing.

What I envision:

  • Selection allow the user to grab blocks, advanced select would be beneficial to grab all block in the BC file.
  • Default would take 0 layer entities and relayer to the block's layer.
  • Option to input a known prefix, such as z-. Maybe this would be an either or scenario
  • Results: block entities that would otherwise go to z-0 would go to z-"whatever the block layer is"

Examples:

No Prefix

Block is on layer x-ut, entities when exploded are on 0. Macro would relayer entities to x-ut.

With Prefix

Block is on layer z-x-ut, entities when exploded are on z-0. Macro would relayer entities to z-x-ut.

Please let me know if you have any questions on this. Thank you!
