Every time i create a Horizontal Alignment after creating a line raised by contour lines, the HZ Alignment does not match the line it was created with. The line seems to match when it is first created but as soon as I change the station start to match the project stationing, the HZ alignment jumps then dives and is shorter than the line used to create it.
Are you changing the Horizontal and Vertical Alignment Stationing?
The Vertical doesnt allow you to "just change" the Start Stationing - ie it does not ripple down through all of the Vertical Elements automatically - you have to move the Profile - right click on the HAL and open the Profile View. Use the Move Command to move the Vertical Alignment from its start station and elevation to the desired Start Station and Elevation. Once you have moved the VAL, then you can use the HAL Editor and enter the Start Station for the HAL to the value required and that will ripple through the HAL Station Values automatically and recompute the alignment. After these two changes the HAL and VAL should match in Stations and you should be good to go.
