This is not a question but feedback based on our recent experience with Catalyst and a Panasonic FZ-N1 device. We're using the "new" FZ-N1 configuration with newer, faster ARM processor, 3GB of memory and Android 8.
The experience with Catalyst has been great so far, although a Bluetooth compatible setup would be much better for us since our users are installing water meters, taking a lot of photos and using the FZ-N1's integrated laser bar-code scanner. Doing all this while connected via USB is a bit cumbersome.
We also had some early issues with the device throwing warning notifications about over-heating. We turned off the Wifi radio and dialed back the resolution on the digital camera; that has mostly resolved the problem but I'm waiting on more feedback from the field.
All-in-all we love the Catalyst; Android doesn't feel like so much of a second-class Trimble-citizen any more. The monthly subscription plan is also great as it works well with the types of projects we do.
