Why do the average points routine and merge points routine give me different answers while holding the same observations?
Currently, we collect GPS observations by using the "store another" option in Trimble Access. Once in the office, we use TBC to manually explode the point and average it again, rejecting observations that don't meet our tolerances.
It would seem that, on import, TBC automatically takes all of the observations of a single point and uses the merge point routine instead. (we exploded the point and ran the merge points routine holding all observations and arrived back at the original coordinate)
However, its answer is different than ours by a few hundredths. If both methods are using the same observations to create a point, why are the outcomes different?
