we do the same. export dwg when we are exporting points at the end of processing. i never thought that a simple copy paste would simplify that step.
but this leads my mind down a different path. i would love to see tbc as an add on to cad. we mostly use carlson with oem autocad. but actually don t often use a lot of the carlson features(never process data with the carlson any more). but it is simple and has few glitches, and great for drafting(some of the carlson tools are also invaluable). but i could see having the same idea with tbc. full autocad base with tbc processing and special features on top.
i know tbc has tried to make some things more like autocad, but when i try them it seems glitchy and not as fast as autocad(snaps, layering, simple commands like drawing lines). certainly there is my lack of learning as well. other things i mostly love in tbc(like quickly making surfaces and the 3d window).
i know this has come up in other posts but i thought i would give my thoughts here.

What about "Reference File"?
You can have multiple other VCE as a snap able background.

Now i export and import.....
