Error Saving Photogrammetry Ortho-mosaic

    We have contacted our local SITECH dealer about a technical issue, but they remain uncertain about how to troubleshoot.

    See attached image.

    Site was flown with a DJI Matrice 300 with L1 Lidar
    Both Lidar and Photogrammetry flights were completed successfully.
    Lidar Point cloud processed with no errors.
    Photogrammetry flight was flown with 70% overlap as a test flight.

    When attempting to process photos in TBC to create an ortho-mosaic the process went smooth and displayed the message, "ortho-mosaic completed successfully" then failed.
    The attached error message is the result of that process.

    My local dealer says the file path is incorrect, but neither he nor I know how to change the default file path for the .vce to be stored in the Trimble Business Center Folder.

    Some help would be appreciated.

    Hello Jason,
    this sounds strange.

    A couple questions:

    1. Do you have physically in the project folder TIF ortho images? If yes, you can still add them to your project by drag&drop.
    2. Can you provide us with some log files which are stored temporarily after the process? Here the steps to perform to get them:

    Navigate to the temporary processing folder. You  can find it on the computer at:

    C:\Users\LOGIN-NAME\AppData\Local\Temp\uasbox

    LOGIN-NAME is the name that you use to log in to your computer.

    You will need to check this folder during your TBC Photogrammetry processing or when it crashes (do not close TBC!). Go to the temporary folder.

    You will always find a general log file, using the following naming convention:

    <DATE>-<TIME>_EN_uasbox.log (e.g. 20220408-162007_EN_uasbox.log)

    Please copy and attach always this log file.

    For issues with DSM HQ Deliverables you will find one of these folders, with the related log file naming:

    • [21-Pointcloud]  -> TrimbleReport.log
    • [26-OrthoTiler]

    Please copy and attach the log file.

    For issues with DTM / DSM Deliverables you will find one of these folders, with the related log file naming:

    • [21-Surface Extraction]  -> UASbox.log
    • [23-Rectify]  -> uasrectify-<DATE>-<TIME>_<NUMBER>.log
    • [24-Mosaic]  -> UAS Mosaic_EN.log

    Jason, please copy and attach the log files and send them to me.
    I would recommend you to only send first the log files, because the temp folder also includes your point cloud and orthomosaics, which can be large in size.

    Hope this helps.

    Best regards,
    Thomas

    1. The images are located in a desktop folder extracted from the Drone - they are not located in the project folder until they are imported into the project. I checked the project folder and they do show up after import. The folder that shows up after import is a .jxl and the files are listed as .jpg and .rdx file types. When selecting create deliverables within the workflow the file format is set to .tff, but I dont see any .tff files within the project folder
    2. I am attaching what logs i could source.
      1. We can create a point cloud from the photos... but no ortho!
        1. For this project we did not attempt to create a point cloud so there were no: 21- Pointcloud or 26 - OrthoTiler folders within the uasbox folder
      2.  DTM / DSM Deliverables: I am attaching the folders for your review
        1. 21-Surface Extraction folder has no log file
        2. 23-Rectify folder has no log file
        3. 24-Mosaic folder does not exist
    The workflow is straight forward, so I don't believe it's anything we are doing, but I've been wrong many times before

     Import flightmission data - Adjust Photo Stations (relative adjustment) -Create Deliverables (Elevation type - Digital Surface Model/ Output Folder - Documents -> Trimble Business Center->Project Folder/ Create Orthomosaic - File Format, TIFF)

    I included the Reports from the Relative and Absolute Adjustments as well (see links below ).

    Let me know what you think.

    Thanks,
    Jason

    Hi Paul,
    it is strange that you do not have any log files, as they are part of the process.
    The data is not large, if you want you can share it with me and I can try to reproduce your issue, by running it on my computer.

    How about the license and version?
    I assume you are using the newest version 5.81? What license are you using? TBC or SO? Perpetual or subscription?

    C:\Users\LOGIN-NAME\
    The original was named  "Survey & Design"
    C:\Users\Survey & Design\
    We created a new user named simply
    C:\Users\survey\ and this seemed to fix the problem
    also, when we contacted their IT department, we found that some files were being quarantined
    This seems to be the solution

    Thank you
