Inviting/managing users

    Hi

    We started using Trimble Connect to improve our collaboration on all projects we have as a company.

    In the meantime, we have made great progress but we have many projects in TC now.
    Is it possible to do a management of people who are in the projects across all these projects?

    For example: Can I invite someone to all projects in one action (new colleague)? Because otherwise I have to open all projects one by one and start adding the person. And again if again someone new starts...

    A solution to this problem would be super helpfull!

    Hi Tijs,

    Thanks for sharing the inputs. We unfortunately don't have a direct way to invite a new user to multiple projects simultaneously. 

    One alternative that partly solves the problem is - the Account administrator can invite the user from the Projects list page (from a single page) . But again ,  the user has to be invited to each project individually.

    This is a growing pain, which did not matter few years back when we started to push Trimble Connect in our projects but now when we have hundreds and hundreds and going to thousands of projects, the ability to manage accesses to projects lasting years is becoming a pain. Some more efficient account admin tools especially for user management should become a priority at some point. At the moment we have limited its use a bit to be an interfacing tool between us an customers, have had to give up using it also as internal project management tool.

    Overall management wishes to make it easier to grow the use of Trimble Connect

    • admin: project statuses (active, on hold, archived)
    • admin: project listing speed and filtering and reporting
    • admin: project team members controlled with user groups instead of individuals
    • have views, todo's, bfc's etc separated, so we can have separate lists of internal, customer A, customer B etc content
    • folder management is actually pretty good already
    • admin: thank you for account wide Data table setup sharing
    • build point cloud support into Browser (automatic streaming) so sharing clouds becomes easier
