My background map has been very glitchy in v5.9.  It is very slow to load and shows up in blocks a few seconds at a time across the screen.  Also if I zoom in to a level to where the scale bar in the lower left shows 200 ft or less the background map disappears completely.

That sucks. Can I reference the old .vce file and export the old layers so that all the files are in the proper layer? I don't want to have to import lots of files and put lines and nodes in their respective layer.

It was an easy fix. I opened my old default template, repicked the coordinate system and saved it as a new template, then set it to default. I haven't had this particular problem since.

That sucks. Can I reference the old .vce file and export the old layers so that all the files are in the proper layer? I don't want to have to import lots of files and put lines and nodes in their respective layer.

I don't remember adding anything. Just update your coordinate system and do a save as for a new template with a new name. I think everything will stay connected.

Thank you but it just doesn't seem to be working on my end. Even in the project properties there is not pull down menu for type under background maps. Just one for visible, blank for type and transparency percent set to 0. This file has been calibrated and all but recently this happened out of nowhere. I have reuploaded the calibrated file and all but it just doesn't fix anything.

A couple updates ago they added a Trimble Maps command in the Home tab. So the map type is no longer in the project properties.

The maps always required a coordinate system and project data as a prerequisite.
