TDC-600 unable to connect to cellular - Not in Device Management Database

  • 1.  TDC-600 unable to connect to cellular - Not in Device Management Database

    We have purchased two TDC-600 data collectors and have not been able to connect to a cellular network. One of the devices is over a year old without success after multiple tech elevations at both AT&T and Verizon. One tech finally responded that the device IMEI# is likely not in the Verizon Device Management Database. This is something that would be done by the manufacturer. It was suggested I reach out to Trimble to have them register the device with Verizon. Any insight where to begin to get to the right department for assistance? Or if this is correct advice?

    Christopher,

    You should never go to a carrier for a SIM card for these types of devices. We always point our customers to the Data Activation Center (DAC). See here: https://www.dataactivationcenter.com/contact-us/. They understand these type of devices and can ensure that it's the proper plan. I would reach out to Chandy (see below).

    The TDC600 is not a certified device with either of the carriers, as you've discovered.

    However, the team at https://www.dataactivationcenter.com/ will be able to provide you SIM cards and services which will work on your devices.

    If you have any further challenges, please reach out to your local Trimble reseller who will have local advice for you.

    We had used the Data Activation Center resource in the past for an older TDC150 that we had connection issues with. They quickly provided a SIM card that functioned properly.
