TMM losing RTX license, Failed to add license

  • 1.  TMM losing RTX license, Failed to add license

    Posted 04-02-2024 07:52

We have an extended subscription. A couple of our users have lost the RTX license. When we go to add the license back in TMM, we get a failed to Apply License. We are working through our vendor to verify the licenses are correct, but is there a known issues with being able to add the license back to TMM? This has only occurred after the TMM update. The previous version of TMM, with the few license that were lost we were able to add the license back easily.

    Hi Matt,

Applying an RTX license to the TDC650 receiver has been tested with TMM v4, we will take a look at it again but am not aware of any issues. TMM does not store the RTX license, it is applied to the receiver and stored there, I'm not aware of why a TDC650 would 'lose' the license. As TDC650 has TMM built in to the OS image you could try uninstalling updates for the app, which will revert you to the version of TMM in the last OS image.

    Best regards,

    Mark.

    Hi Matt,

Did you find a way around this? I have been able to apply an RTX key to a TDC650 multiple times with TMM v4, though I'm not sure how to get my receiver into the same state as yours prior to applying the RTX key.

    Regards,

    Mark.

    Mark,

I am assisting Matt with this now. There is a chance that we have a lemon of a 650; however, Matt is going to test a a few things and report back. NO FIeldPointRTX code will apply to this unit whether it's their owned fieldpoint RTX license or a 30 day trial. We have tried switching internet sources, confirmed many android settings, etc. This one is a bit of a mystery but hopefully a factory reset will at least allow us to apply the RTX code again.

Zach, if not successful with TMM in installing your RTX code, contact the TAP team (am_corrections@trimble.com) and request an over the air installation.  We recently had a different dealer with TDC650 go this route and they were successful using this method

We have another device this morning, 6319H00041. This is in addition to the other devices. The device was last successfully used the device on April 9th. Since then, we have resent the license and when connected it didnt work. We do not have access to work with the Geospatial department directly. We are still trying to rule out any MDM problem before we call the device a total dud, but sincewe added yet another device today with the issues, I am hoping a failure rate is not really that high on the TDC650's.

    Matt,

I came across this same issue with the same error message using the latest TMM using a TDC650. We then loaded it via Terra Flex /settings/licensing successfully. It did take a few tries.

Tried this, but we do not use TerraFlex and do not have a license.

    Matt,

I believe what Trimble is suggesting here is to install TerraFlex ONLY for the purpose of activating RTX. Then, TMM and ultimately your custom application should be able to use the Fieldpoint RTX corrections. It's an alternative way to apply RTX aside from TMM.

    Mark,

Would you suggest that i send them the 1_0_19 build of GNSS loader to try to load RTX in lieu of TMM?

Lastly, we have confirmed that the issue is NOT the code. It's purely that the 650 will not take any RTX code via TMM currently. It is unique to 2-3 of over 200 in their fleet.

    Hi Zach/ Matt

If TMM's not doing the job have them install GNSS Loader

Download the *.apk from here v1.0.20 HERE  - copy to the device (email/cloud drive/ cable) and install via File Manager app

They could actually run this from the device If easier

    Once Installed

    1. Run GNSS Loader > Install Accuracy option > Copy the code in and hit INSTALL

If there's not already a case with support I'd recommend submitting one so we can better understand what's going on with this specific device (or code)

    Hi Zach,

I think the GNSS Loader option is a practical one, I see you've already enabled that. From what I read we believe that TMM loads the codes successfully for all but a few units? If that's the case this is strange. I wonder if, after loading the codes with GNSS Loader, TMM then works? Your last case about a Support case is definitely the right way to go.

    Regards,

    Mark.
