Hello TBC’ers! TBC’s baseline processing report provides a comprehensive evaluation of the quality of your baseline processing. This report highlights the precision and reliability of your baseline processing, allowing you to make informed decisions about the quality of your data. You can even switch off specific GNSS satellites or clip off regions of bad content to ensure the highest accuracy in your GNSS data.
To begin this workflow, import your drone UAS data imagery into TBC within a defined geo-referenced coordinate system (don’t forget to set your coordinate system!) and follow these steps:
-
Import your base station data in the form of a .T02 file. Base station data is required for baseline processing.
-
In the Photogrammetry ribbon, click the “Process Baselines” button in the GNSS tab.

-
The “Process Baselines” pane will appear. This automatically processes all of the baselines in your project. Alternatively, you can process baselines for individual sessions by right clicking the session in the Project Explorer and selecting “Process Baselines.” To the left of the Observation field in the table, there will be a small triangle. Click this triangle. Once clicked, the “Report” button on the right side of the pane will become available.

-
Click the “Report” button. This will generate a report for the session in the selected row. In this report you can find the estimated accuracies of your satellite measurements. Alternatively, you can generate a report with the Report button in the top ribbon or by right clicking on the session you wish to create a report for. It is important to note that when you select to open a Baseline Processing Report from anywhere else in TBC, the report opens on a viewing tab in RDLC (Report Definition Language Client-side) format, which can then be saved in PDF format.

-
A link to the data appears on the top left hand side of the report. Click this link to review the report for detailed information on each processed baseline, including precision metrics such as estimated accuracies. If you’re seeing many fixed solutions in the estimated accuracy range of 0-5cm, your data is looking really good!
-
Click “Save.” If you do not click save the baseline processing will not be saved.

-
To improve the quality of a processed baseline, you can use the Session Editor to disable unhealthy satellites, mask bad sections of satellite data, and adjust occupation times. Open the Session Editor by right clicking a session in the Project Explorer.

-
The Session Editor appears. Satellites that provided data for the session include blue and/or green lines on the timeline. Each blue line represents data collected for the first point in the baseline. Each green line represents data collected for the second point in the baseline. You can edit the data in your session in two ways:
-
Disable an entire satellite. To disable a satellite click the satellite name in the left column. Once clicked, the entire row will be shaded to indicate that this satellite data will be disabled and not be used for processing.

-
Disable a part of a satellite. You can also clip off regions of bad content by clicking and dragging over bad data. In this example there are cycle slips, so you will click in front of the first slip and drag your cursor to the end of the bad data. The selected area will be shaded indicating that it will not be included in processing of this satellite.

-
Once you make all of the necessary edits in the Session Editor, click OK.
-
To apply these changes, right click on the select baseline and click “Process Baselines” to reprocess the baselines. Don’t forget to hit “Save!”

And that’s a wrap. By leveraging the Baseline Processing Report and the Session Editor, you can ensure your GNSS data is accurate and reliable, leading to better project outcomes.
