Hello TBCers! Did you know that TBC offers a powerful feature to automatically extract breaklines from point clouds captured in open-pit mines? This tool allows you to efficiently manage open-pit mine data is crucial for ensuring safety and conformance to design parameters. Follow these steps to streamline your workflow.
To begin this workflow, open your TBC project with the processed point cloud of your mine:

Specify which section of the mine you are analyzing by creating a polyline that defines the section of the mine you want to report on. Select “Polyline” from the Lines section under the CAD tab.

Name the polyline, create a new layer, and select the individual points from the Plan View. Once created, you can close the Create Polyline command pane.

Open the Mines tab and click on “Extract Mining Breaklines” from the Above Ground section.

Select the point cloud region of the mine, select the boundary that you defined, and assign the breaklines that will be extracted to your boundary reporting layer.

Specify the maximum angle for breakline extraction. Instead of entering a value manually, you can specify the angle directly from the Plan View by selecting two points, and the angle will be generated automatically.

Click “Apply.” The breaklines will now be extracted.
