Tip #156 - Rotate Your Data in Plan View

By Hannah Poon posted 08-25-2021 16:50

Hey TBC’ers! Have you ever wanted to rotate your data in Plan View to make it easier to view and navigate? This cool, new feature was added in the TBC v5.51 release.

Follow the steps below to learn how to utilize keyboard and mouse controls to rotate your data in the Plan View.

  • Drag and drop your VCE file from File Explorer into the Plan View or open it by selecting File > Open.

  • In the Plan View, press Ctrl + Shift and your mouse wheel, and then drag a "rubber band" line indicating the direction you want to specify as "up". The view will rotate accordingly. For example, to rotate the view 90° clockwise, press Ctrl + Shift and your mouse wheel and drag the rubber band horizontally from right to left. To rotate the view 90° counterclockwise (back to its original position), drag the rubber band horizontally from left to right. Watch the next video for a live demonstration.

  • To reset the rotation back to its default (north up; no rotation), open a new Plan View.
