Tip #181 - Copying Spreadsheets from TBC

Hey TBC’ers! Have you ever wanted to copy your TBC spreadsheet data to a text editor (e.g., Microsoft® Notepad) or a spreadsheet (Microsoft® Excel or Google Sheets) for further editing? Well, you’re in luck because TBC has two ways of doing that to make data transfer easy!

Follow the steps below to learn how to copy and paste your TBC spreadsheet data.

  • Navigate to the Data section of the Home tab in the TBC ribbon. You can find the six types of spreadsheets TBC has to offer (Points, Occupation, Optical, Photo Point, Vector, and Feature). Here, we will click on Points to open up the Point Spreadsheet.

  • Select all the points by either selecting a row in the table and pressing [Ctrl] + A, or selecting the top row, then holding [Shift] while selecting the bottom row. The whole table will turn gray.

  • If you want to include the column headers, right-click outside of the table to display the context menu. Select Copy. If you do not want to include the column headers, press [Ctrl] + C

  • Paste the table into an application of your choice. Here, the column headers are included since we used the Copy option from the right-click context menu.

Here, the column headers are not included since we used [Ctrl] + C to copy the data.

You can use the following tutorial on Using Spreadsheets to try this out!
