Losing selection (Linked Model Objects) after importing the exported BCF file.

Dear Trimble Team,

We found a strange behavior about 'Linked Model Objects' section within Trimble Connect ToDo, and we want to check that with you.

We will describe the concrete scenario in detail below.

First of all, we used Trimble Connect Web, a free version.

The first step was dragging the TwoWallsOneDoor.ifc file (created in Autodesk Revit 2021, in attachment) into Data/Explorer folder.
After opening the model in your 3D Viewer, we selected one wall (Basic Wall:Generic - 200mm:297143) and created a new ToDo using that selection.
There was one object (the wall which we selected) within 'Linked Model Objects' section.
We exported such a ToDo as a BCF file.
We dragged the exported OneWallSelected.bcfzip file (without any modifications on it in the meantime, in attachment) back to the Data/Explorer folder.
We manually created a new ToDo ('Add to ToDo' option) using the imported file.
After reopening the model, we saw a created ToDo, but there was no 'Linked Model Objects' section, and the concrete wall wasn't selected. It seems like the selection was lost.

Could you please take a look at the attached files and investigate the described issue?

Should you have any further questions about the described issue, feel free to contact us.

Thank you in advance for your help.

Hi Jovan,

Unfortunately, linked model objects do not get exported / imported in the BCFZip file.

Dear Trimble Team,

Thank you for your prompt answer.

At this moment, is there a workaround that you would recommend to us?
What is recommended workflow when using BCF inside your solution?

Best regards,

Hi Jovan,

Selected objects should carry over in the BCF Viewpoints / TC Views associated with the BCF topic / TC ToDo, but not as linked objects.
The issue is that the concept of objects linked to the Topic-level does not exist in BCF-XML, where objects can only be associated with Viewpoints.
Therefore a 1-1 mapping between Connect Todo and a BCF Topic is unfortunately not possible.
