• When I attach a file to an object in an IFC-Model on Desktop > I'm not able to see the attachment on Mobile or Web
• When I attach a file to an object in an IFC-Model on Web > I can see it on desktop but NOT on Mobile

We're using Desktop v1.5.0.96 on Win7 x64, Mobile v2.2.1 on Android

We would really like to be able to see attachments on mobile!

I recently just posted the same question. Hopefully someone from Trimble support will replay soon. This is a feature my clients are asking for.

Object attachments is not yet supported on Mobile, we have this on our plan but no timelines yet, we will keep you posted. 

Our support team will follow up with you on object attachment between Desktop and Web.

Hi All,

Thank you for your posts. The model attachments functionality is currently available on web and desktop app but not yet on mobile app. We will send your feedback to our product team to review and prioritize for future improvement.

You should be able to attach file on desktop app and it will appear on web app (or vice versa) by following steps; 

1. Open model in 3D View on desktop application.
2. Select model object you would like to link file to.
3. Click add file button on the top left corner, select the file (checked) once it is loaded to the project folder and click 'OK'.
4. The file icon will appear on the attached object.
5. On Web app, open the model in 3D viewer and select "Model attachments" tab on the left panel. All attachments will show up and select the attachment will highlight the object that file has been attached to.

Thanks Fern. Desktop version is great, very easy to attachment documents to

objects. Client is just wanting to see this in the field.

Also another Trimble Connect customer here looking to give our site teams access to drawings as per above. Eagerly anticipating this feature release.

Trimble Connect Mobile Team is working on having the Object linking brought into the Mobile App. Its currently work in progress. Will keep the forum posted when it is fully ready for users and is released.
