Workflow for licensing TILOS in a network
(Product-ID begins with TFN- or TSN-)
1. Install TILOS on a client computer, not on a server.
2. When you install TILOS on a Terminal Server, please start it by a user profile and not
directly on a server. Take a user profile that is set in the same way like for the users
which should work with TILOS.
3. Start TILOS and run licensing.
4. The folder for the license needs the permission Modify for the user(group) that should
access the license. For the path, please see the example below.
5. After the license was activated you only have to connect all other user installations to
this license by TILOS, Help, Licence Manager with “Connect to existing Licence
Folder”. Don ́t run the activation from other computers or user profiles again after a
license was activated.
6. The path to the license is stored in the file config.ini you can find in the TILOS program
directory why it will be copied to the user's virtual store:
(C:\Users\UserName\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\Program Files (x86)\TILOS\...) When
you have TILOS installed on more than one computer, you can copy the file config.ini to
these computers after the license has been activated.
IMPORTANT NOTE:
The license folder has to be installed to a subfolder of the root directory. The path has to
contain min. 2 folders like from one of the following examples:
- \\Servername\TILOS\Licence\ (UNC- path is recommended)
- X:\TILOS\Licence\ (or every other available drive letter – it has to be equal for all users)
NEVER put the license folder directly to the root like \\Servername\ or X:\
The license has to be accessible for all users within the same Windows workgroup or
domain.
The path to the license cannot be changed after the license has been activated.
When you want to move a license, you ́ll have to deactivate it first by the TILOS Licence
Manager.
After a license has been deactivated, you can activate it with the same license data in a
different place following the same steps as at the first activation.
When you do it on an installation that has been connected to the old path, please select
„Redo licensing process“ first.
Further information about installation and licensing can be found after installation by the
Windows Start menu at Programs, TILOS, Help, Browse Documentation Folder.
When you have a USB version in use, you ́ll find after its installation on the USB key in the
TILOS program folder the folder Data, Documentation with the files that contain the
information needed.
