Viewing SketchUp model's layer vs object in model tree?

    All,

I am a Tekla BIMSight transfer - and now use TBC - much easier, better, etc.

In BIMSight I was able to change the model tree sorting from objects to layers. That was nice because folks could turn ff layers or groups of things that had similar meaning or intent to remove them from the view. I can't seem to find this functionality.  For example, if I have a skethcup model full of objects, they aren't grouped by phase (or layer), so turning things off and on in a way that reflects their intended assembly becomes, difficult.

    Any thoughts on this?

    Thanks,
    Mike

    Hi Mike,

Nice to hear that you have used Tekla BIMsight earlier.

In Trimble Connect Desktop (as successor for Tekla BIMSight) you have the same feature. Use the "Group by" field to group objects by layer.

You can download installer for Trimble Connect Desktop from the Applications (the button with 9 dots on the top right).

    Hopefully this helps.

    Best regards,
