I have recently updated to the latest version of TC Desktop and none of my rebar models will load. They are visible however in TCW and TCM.

I have the following screen with the model file number in RED

This is very concerning as we are using these model on our site and after this latest update the site teams are unable to view on Desktop.

I can't view any IFC models in TCD 1.6!!!

I have tried Rebar, Concrete and form work. I have tried models in projects that already existed and also set up a new project this morning to test and still have the same issue.

I will invite you to the project I have set up this morning and also an older project for you to see.

We had the same issue on some computers and decided not to upgrade for now. Do you happen to be running virtual desktops? I believe TCD 1.6 got rid of OpenGL and uses Directx only, which caused our issue. Maybe your issue is similar?

With virtual desktops it's possible that DirectX is not working. In Paul's case problem is that there are multiple versions of plugins installed in the computer.

Multiple version of what plugin?  Did they have to be removed?

Hi Mike,

If you have had Tekla BIMSight or Trimble Connect Desktop installed on your machine by two or more different accounts, that causes problems of having multiple versions of plugins in the machine.

First you should check with all needed user accounts that Tekla BIMsight, Trimble Connect Desktop and all plugins are removed. Plugins start with either "Trimble Solutions ImportSDK" or "Tekla Model Sharing Foundation".

Then open regedit.exe to edit the registry and navigate to:

After removing all software this should be empty, if not, clear it.

Then you can install Trimble Connect Desktop (and Tekla BIMsight if needed). Note: You need to install Tekla BIMsight first. They both use the same plugins and you want to install last the newer ones that come with Trimble Connect Desktop.
