Tablets "Last Reported" time is not correct

  • 1.  Tablets "Last Reported" time is not correct

    We have a lot of tablets not reporting back correctly as to when they last reported.  They are actively syncing to established Works Manager sites.  The work orders are current via the "Field Data" link.  The "Status Message" data is old and not correct.  I also noticed that the ones with old last reported dates do not have an active project field populated, even though they are on active works manager projects.  You can even see in the graphic below that T01 last reported date was 5 months ago, even though the Active green icon indicator is on.   Is anyone else having similar issues?

    Sarcasm On - that's the only thing that works for me after nearly 2 years with Waitmanager

    It stopped exactly on September 1st. But that isn't Trimbles fault, no no, that is because we're bad boys and didn't pay for the new software warranty.

    Trimble improved something on their servers that miraculously only affects reporting but not the synch login or the remote help. But instead of biting the bullet themselves and to give you the necessary update to 1.41 with a lower software warranty date they expect us customers to cough up the money to get a previously working feature back. Customer satisfaction initiative at its best.

    I'm not sure if it ONLY has to do with SW warranty. I have a controller in warranty that we synced two days ago.

    Weird, works for us with that version.
    Our two latest additions 11 and 12 are still under software warranty but we haven't updated to 1.42 yet.

    All the other ones are out of warranty and run 1.40 or lower.
    They show last reported as Aug 31.

    Yours seem to have reported after that date, your screen shot shows Nov 13. Another Waitmanager mystery.

    As a note,  all of our software warranties are active and our Panasonic tablets are up to date or close to.

    The Tablets talk to a number of backend services 

    Works Manager, which uses the TCC Backend for the file transfer

    IBSS, which uses NTRIP with TCC Auth.

    Remote Assistant, which uses a device specific login to the backend which is created when you install it.

    Position and Status reporting, this used the Trimble Identity (TID) service to connect to the Trimble Cloud. There have been multiple versions of the way to login to the Trimble cloud. Versions of Siteworks before 1.4.1 used V3 of Trimble Identity. V1.4.1+ Uses TID V4.

    TID V3 got turned off 1st of September, which is why the Status reporting stopped working then but everything else continued to work

    Hello Matt, Siteworks moved to TID v4 for enhanced security measures in v1.41, however unfortunately could not support backward compatibility. You can look at the excel report (shared in a separate mail), and upgrade pending tablets to v1.41 or above. These devices should then start reporting and you will see the latest information (last reported, active project etc.) reflected in WorksManager.
