Geo7x & Terraflex (WEHH 6.5 end of life)

    According to the Geo7x datasheet, it uses the Windows Embedded Handheld 6.5 operating system.

    According to this web page, this operating system is no longer supported as of 2020.

    I see that the WEHH 6.5 download for the Geo7x is still available here, and thanks for keeping it available.

    How much longer will Trimble maintain the Terraflex software for the WEHH 6.5 O/S (for the Geo7x)?

    Hi Paul,

    We are no longer developing or adding functionality to the WEHH version of TerraFlex, which is fixed at version 4.4. We have not yet announced end of support for TerraFlex on WEHH.

    If you have any questions on the newer versions of TerraFlex please get in touch with your Trimble partner, or post on the Community.

    Hello Mark, 
    Does this mean that clients that are already using TerraFlex on their Geo 7X will not be able to use it after End of Life?  Or will they just continue at that version of 4.4.  Just trying to confirm what exactly this means moving forward for existing clients.  Thank you

    Hi Evelyn,

    Apologies for the delay in responding. When TerraFlex on WEHH has reached End of Life it will no longer be possible to sign in, we will of course announce this in advance to allow users time to migrate to a current TerraFlex solution. Newer versions of TerraFlex have continued to have new features and services added and this will continue for iOS, Android and Windows 10.

    Mark, thank you for your responses. Please continue to support the Geo7x (WEHH), even if it means the Terraflex software has to be branched. Really, the Geo7x / WEHH software could stay as it is. The sign in issue that's coming with the newer versions of Terraflex sounds like it could be overcome if there was a desire to do so. We have a tremendous investment in the Geo7x CM kit so we would hope it would be able to run Terraflex for years to come.
