how can i work offline

    we need to work off line on a model in a place without internet connection or wi fi

    Hi,

     

    Install Trimble Connect Desktop. You need to have internet connect when you log in, but if you use the "Remember me" option in the login form, you should be able to run Trimble Connect Desktop just fine with out connection.

    I can tell you the following.
    The offline operation works as long as you have downloaded the data completely.

     

    • If the computer is not connected to the Internet with the Lan or WLan and you start Trimble Connect Desktop, the Windows firewall will ask for permission first.

      Give it access.

    • Trimble Connect Desktop will then notice that it doesn't have an Internet connection and ask if you want Trimble Connect Desktop to switch to offline mode.


    Confirm this and you can view all downloaded projects normally.

     

    Sorry, the print screens are all in German!

    Will it be possible of using Trimble Connect in offline mode without Connection to internett in the future?

    Hi Daniel,

     

    As replied above, Trimble Connect Deskop can be used in offline mode for some period of time. You need to first log in with the "Remember me" checked while you have internet connected.

     

    We have no plans to make changes in the offline mode.

    Thank you for fast reply Marko!  Then we have to find another solution for our kiosk computers at building site.

    Trimble connect is way too slow, is there anyway that you can bring back Tekla BIMsight as this is a much better tool when working in remote areas with no connection

    Trimble connect desktop won't work unless you have a working internet. As long as you log in for the day , you will be granted permission to work. The internet can  go off during the same day and permission will be granted to use the software for that same day only.

    turn your PC off and then the next day you arrive at a remote site , permission to run your desktop Trimble Connect is refused.
    I know it's all a bit silly but this is the world we are living in. 

    So just a warning to everybody that this software is not controlled by the user.

    The very short answer is no you may not use your desktop software unless you have internet.

    even if you have all files on your own PC , you will not get permission to use Trimble's software unless you have internet.
