Trimble Connect User Forum

We are looking to leverage the desktop  3d viewer more but are still finding it suffers from issues that were part of BIMsight.  

Would really like to see the following; 

• In the model tree- we need an object tree under each model...IE IFC Space, IFCslab... to be able to control visibility by the story, ...
• Object List needs a dedicated IFCObject Type option.  The current options make it really hard to do something that a product like solibri does simply... IE Turn off all the "IFCSpace" objects in a project.
• Right click "hide all"  option when selecting  an element (see attached image)

Also, need the ability to save - On/Offf Options to set standard visible for the entire model.

Realy need desktop caches to produce on a server ...desktop processing speed to slow daily update cycle of models on a large project.

Need to be able to adjust the field of view. Its often to narrow to properly navigate.

Missing a good Story based navigation option.

How do you see element properties quickly?  The names of things doesn't offset help.  Like a "buildingElement Proxy" in the in view right-click menu doesn't help at all.

when inserting DWG models, one could shift them to each other in BIM-Sight?  how to in Trimble-Connect?

Hi Lukas,

Yes, you can relocate models in Trimble Connect Desktop, about the same way as in Tekla BIMsight.

Open the model properties by clicking the i-symbol on the model. From there you can see the controls for relocating the model.

but? where do I find this i ? I have the free Version installed on win10. And my model consists of Plancal dwg. (Tirmble/Nova/Plancal beeing part of your tools, but there is no interface for it?)

added a jpg of Desktop in my folder/infos

There is a poor clash manager in trimble connect too. Looking forward for improvements. We resign to switch to other software only because trimble connect it's not yet ready for big projects. i hope soon it will became better.

I totally agree, Clash manager on Bimsight is way better, hope they make some improvements on TCD soon.
