In order to manage file size and have targeted AR walks with the Hololens2, we need to section our Revit models before uploading to Trimble Connect. This is especially important with large footprint buildings and multi level buildings.
Creating a duplicate file and deleting geometry outside of the targeted zone is very time consuming, but it is the only method that works consistently at this time.
Converting our Revit files to dwg or worse ifc files is both time consuming and often results in missing modeled content—and always with MEP models.
