    Hello. I purchased in December 2017 two Trimble R8S receivers, one set up as Rover and the other one set up as base. I currently need two rovers, so I need to set up my base to work as a rover. I asked this question two days ago on this forum, but it doesn't show anywhere.

    @Bogdan Raduc,

     

    If your R8s which is used as a base has a base-only configuration then you may not be able to use the receiver as a rover without an upgrade.

     

    Can you provide the receiver serial number? You can see what options your receiver is licensed for using the Trimble License Viewer site.

    The serial number for our device is 5730R01139. Please help us understand if we can use the receiver as a rover without an upgrade. Thank you!

    I'm afraid that this receiver does not have a rover license assigned, so it will not work without an upgrade to full base & rover functionality. Please contact your local Trimble distributor to purchase a configuration upgrade if you require the ability to use your R8s as both a base and a rover. Good luck!
