With the revit add in is there a way to apply color to the model?

I understand the question as this. It seems like you want to change the model color using Trimble connect Revit Add-in.

If so then you cannot change the model color using the TC revit add-in. We don't have option to change the color. 

You can change the model color using authentic Revit viewer and then you can upload the file into TC via revit add-in.

That isn’t exactly what I was wanting. I was just wanting to edit colors of objects based on their revit family properties. That way all my mechanical equipment is green, my supply duct is blue, return is magenta, etc…. what method is used to achieve this is not overly important to me. Im not exactly sure what the authentic revit viewer is?

Hi John,

In Trimble Connect Desktop you can do this. Easiest way is to group the objects in objects list based on the revit family properties. Then you can give different colors to different groups.

After you have set the colors correct, save the 3D to a view. That way you can get back to it later. You can then share the view to others.

Ok, and that is how im doing it and that’s fine. The other issue is the system types don’t seem to be holding over from revit for some reason. So portions of my “relief air” duct system are changing to “outside air” during the export. Is there any known causes for this?

Hi John,

The system type showing in Trimble Connect model's properties should be the same as being show in Revit software. If the system type changed after uploading to Trimble Connect project, please email us connect-support@trimble.com and we will assist further in this issue.

Note - Trimble Connect does not support details such as textures but standard colors in Revit project should be transferred over to Trimble Connect 3D viewer.
