Hi Matias,
It sounds like you are having multiple versions of IFC plugin in your computer and Trimble Connect Desktop uses the old one. With version 1.6, old IFC plugins are not compatible with Trimble Connect Desktop anymore.
Follow these steps to fix this issue.
1. Uninstall Trimble Connect Desktop and all plugins, they start either "Trimble Solutions ImportSDK" or "Tekla Model Sharing Foundation". If you have Tekla BIMsight installed, uninstall that too.
2. Clear these folders:
C:\Program Files\Trimble Solutions\ImportSDK
C:\Program Files (x86)\Tekla\Model Sharing Foundation
3. Open regedit.exe and navigate to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Tekla Corporation\Model Sharing Foundation\plugins
Clear all registry keys in that path. There should be no mentions of any plugins at this point. So, clear them.
4. Install Tekla BIMsight if you need it
5. Install Trimble Connect Desktop
If you don't install Tekla BIMsight now, but need it later, you need to uninstall Trimble Connect Desktop and all plugins before installing Tekla BIMsight and Trimble Connect Desktop also.
Reason for this is, that both software uses the same plugins. Trimble Connect Desktop has much newer versions of the plugins, so those should be installed last.
