Trimble Connect User Forum

Hi There

First I want to tell that I find Trimble Connect a great tool. I think you guys are on the right way with this cloud-based program.
In my company we use Trimble Connect frequently and we are also in possession of the Enterprise License as well as a Hololens.

In our resent project we used based on our client the software Dalux.
In the usage of it, we experienced some good features, which are special helpful on the construction site and are appealing for our contractors. I wondered what your opinion about them are and if TC has planned to implement them or similar features themselves. 

Features List:

1. Matching PDF ground plan with 3D Model:
   This allows contractors and clients, who aren't used to move in 3D Modell, to move on the more used to ground plan. Also, for people who are used to 3D Models it is a great help to maneuver fast to the room you want to go to.
2. Creating different ToDo classes (information request, defect, ToDo)
3. Possibility to draw in a picture which you add on a To'Do. It helps a lot if you can make a short arrow which point to the problem you detected on the construction site.
4. Possibility to add pictures to PDF ground plan. Really helpful if you are first time on a project site which just PDF ground plan. Also diagnose report of houses could be easily made (if TC also makes PDF exports, a point I mention more down)
5. Adding the To'Do's in the matched PDF ground plan, with points. Makes it easy to see where the most Problems are. Best would be different colored points based on the status of the To'Do as well a filter to just show ToDo's assigned to a person or group.
6. And possibility to make a PDF report for the To'Do's /Pictures per group / person, who the ToDo's are assigned. Here would be best if it has a direct connection with the Points in the ground plan (Tabell from left sight plan section with the to do, right sight the information's of the ToDo's)
7. Possibility to makes rules for who in the project can give whom a ToDo. This helps that not the ToDo management doesn't get too big.
8. ToDo are just finished if they are accepted. by the person who made it. If it gets rejected a new due date can be set. The whole process needs to be logged to see the history.

Features form other software:

Creating ground level views with a button (This was once possible but in the newest viewer it isn't anymore)

Possibility to match a PDF section plan to a 3D Model so. (Revizto). Contractors can add the section plan to the 3D Model and see all the information, which the planer added on the section plan.

Floormap also in the 3D Viewer, so people see where they are in the model (example Solibri). This would also be useful with the Hololens.

It would be nice if just components can be put invisible (like in Trimble Connect)

Possibility to upload a new model after you aligned a first model. For example, you align the architecture model to the real building. After you are finished you upload the MEP models.
