Freemium Penmap limitations?

What are the limitations of the Penmap for Android Freemium version?

    • What limitations in the Project Manager
    • What limitations in the app itself?
    • Can you use a Trimble supported GNSS Receiver?
    • Is Exporting a limitation?

A customer would like to try the app with their SP80 before purchasing.  It appears to be compatible per the configuration guide: Product Configuration Guide https://geospatial.trimble.com/product-configuration-guide

    Thanks,

    Hi Jay,

With Penmap for Android Freemium version, you can check out the full functionality of the Penmap for Android app and measure with the internal GNSS of the used smartphone.
You need a Penmap for Android subscription to connect to Trimble and Spectra GNSS receiver as well as to work with Trimble Connect, the Penmap Project Manager, and creating exports.

There is no customer test license available today.

The Spectra SP80 receiver is not supported. It seems that there is wrong information on the web page. I will recheck this.
We have released the support for the Spectra SP60 and SP85 with Penmap for Android 10.8.9.1411.

    Best regards,
    Martin

    Martin,

Thank you for the follow up about the Freemium version.

Also for the clarification that only the SP60 and SP85 are supported with Penmap for Android.

    Thanks,

I have to correct my earlier message regarding the test/demo license.

    • Interested customers can either use the freemium version with the communicated limitations (internal receiver only, no PPM, no Connect, no export) or contact their local Trimble dealer.
    • Trimble dealers have (or can request) a free of charge demo license and they, of course, can allocate a license to any interested customer at any time in Trimble License Manager (TLM).
    • There is no need to buy a subscription for a month to get a demo

    Martin,

Hi, I am following up again about the Spectra GNSS Receivers and Penmap for Android support.

If the SP80 is not compatible, can you work with the Trimble team that keeps the Product Configuration Guide up to date? It still says that SP60, 80 and 85 are all compatible with Penmap for Android. Its more of a Yes or No support and it doesn't list the release build numbers.
